A didactic cinquain is a specific kind of cinquain, which follows the below pattern:

  • First line: one word, usually a noun, which also serves as the title of the poem.
  • Second line: two adjectives describing the title.
  • Third line: three verbs that show action
  • Fourth line: a short sentence that show emotions about the poem's subject
  • Fifth line: a one-word synonym of the title
